If you live in the UK what are your views on the country? Like it or not and why?

I miss the UK a lot. It's a very diverse country, with a vibrant culture, good public transportation (really liked the trains and the buses & coaches as well), the education system allows for early specialisation, the food and the weather aren't as bad as one might believe, and the government (kind of) works. In fact I loved the takeaway culture (freshly made sandwiches, sushi, …) and really do appreciate pub food. :) Only the cost of living really bothered me. A small flat in London may cost a small fortune. When you're used to it you might not appreciate it. But the standard of living is very high in the UK. Try Germany instead – no air con in many trains, cheap rents but everything else really expensive, high taxes, a very old school country that takes great pride in abiding old fashioned rules instead of questioning them (ban of shops opening on Sundays etc) ;)

I did to continue law school in my native Germany… Only lived in the UK for about a year but that was enough for me to fall in love with the country, haha.

like all counties it has it's pros and cons it depends where you live tbh ... there's some fairly shabby but cool places near me but there's also some pretty boring and almost ghost towns around too

Exactly Bones... why Norfolk?? I live here and would not choose to live here if I had the option to o.O although Norwich is really nice... I'd maybe live in Norwich... But the UK is general is ok. One thing I'm truly grateful for is the NHS, I think every country should have one. It's unfair that poorer people should be denied medical treatment because they can't afford it :/ I mean, if it hadn't been for the NHS, and if my parents had been in a situation where they couldn't afford treatment, I'd have been dead at the age of 10... The education system in the UK is fucked though. Better than some countries, yes, but continually going downhill. Things were, in my opinion, starting to get better, but now they go and mess things up again. I wouldn't choose to live in Norfolk though. There's so little opportunity here, and Fenland (I live on the border between Fenland and West Norfolk), has one of the highest rates of unemployment in the country, and I believe the highest rate in East Anglia, but don't hold me to that. If I could choose, I'd love to live in Hertfordshire, somewhere like Welwyn Garden City. Beautiful place with far more opportunity, and also closer to London so commuting for acting work would not be a problem ;)

Norwich is nice, but other than Norwich, there's no opportunity for people actually living here rather than just visiting :/ You pretty much HAVE to be able to drive, because the public transport (everywhere except Norwich and perhaps Kings Lynn) is awful, the village that I live in has a total of about 5 buses a day go through it :/ There are few jobs and there's not much to do unless you're prepared to travel a good distance :/

Haha yeahh I need to, I need to visit so many places xD I should really have at least visited Worcestershire properly as some of my family live in Evesham, but because most of my family live in the East, they tend to visit us rather than the other way round :3
