Have you thought about seeing a psychiatrist or a therapist to help with coping methods to ease your anxiety?

I saw a counsellor for a while, and I'm on the waiting list for another one but until that happens I don't really know what to do

My therapist doesn’t think I have anxiety. Little does she know I’ve been diagnosed with severe anxiety twice ✌🏻
Sometimes it’s better just to force yourself out of your shell. Sadly, there’s no way besides anti depressants that will help you. Those “methods” and talking about it but not doing anything won’t help

Perhaps you need a stronger dosage? Because when I was first prescribed medication, it wasn’t really helping me at all... so I told my psychiatrist and she highered the dosage, it began working soon after.

Work within your comfort zone. What social situations are fun for you? Being in control helps reduce anxiety for me, so usually I am the one who makes plans and invites people to do shit.

You can go out to crowded places, were you don't necessarily have to know someone, and I'm sure you want to be around people, 'cause you feel lonely. So you can actually go out and not talk to people, and just be looking around. I like to do that a lot.

And if you gotta talk, choose someone who can put up with all the things you consider uninteresting. Let it go on the person you know the most, and release all that talk you've been holding up. And even if he or she, looks at you weirdly, it's OK, you're having a necessity there and you must do something about it. And don't regret it later, because it just felt really good speaking up.
It's easy, don't keep adding to it.

I relate to this on so many levels, both as a sufferer of social anxiety and someone who treats it.

The best thing you can do for your social anxiety is slowly introduce yourself into social situations. But that being said, there is a healthy way to do so. Always have someone you trust with you and ensure you always have a way out of an uncomfortable situation.
As difficult as it may be, one of the best things you can do for your social anxiety is to put yourself into positions where you're experiencing it. Experiencing your anxiety causes you to become better adjusted as well as learn new coping mechanisms.
Even I still need to exit social situations from time to time. But, through putting myself into social situations, I've adjusted better and am able to better cope with stressful situations.

CBD oil if it's legal where you are! Def helps my anxiety well.
Legal in the UK.
