be you despite what others say, at the end of the day its your life, you decide what to do with it, not them. however, in regard to those who tell you who you are and aren't, what I'd recommend is you practice some middle finger exercises, probably about 50 or so finger-reps per day will suffice. trust me it'll come in handy later.

the way i see it you dont need their approval of anything its your life and if the emo is what you think suits you and is what you want then do it, only you know who you are just be you. . . bad example but a thief knows they are a thief they dont need to prove it same as a biker knows when they are bikers and to them the ones that usually tries the hardest to show others are usually the fake ones just be yourself

Be yourself, don't try to fit in. That's what will make you fake. If you're not a stereotype, that's okay. Most "true" emos have a bright/non-emo side. That's called being a human.
