I don't think it will ever be as popular as 10 years ago but there is certainly more in the media about "emo" recently. MCR is certainly playing a large factor in that :)

That and Emo style has come so far from what it use to be back in either late 90s -early 2000s. While it is more frequent now days. Then wasn't easily excepted as a form of lifestyle back then.

Honestly it depends on your definition of emo and also your personal definition of "comeback". At this point the actual genre of Emo has essentially become underground again, especially since emo as a subculture has often drifted from the genre itself. As for the associated fashion, it has essentially been revived/revamped with scenecore/emocore themes in modern alt/egirl fashion and many people who partake in said fashion proclaim that they are "emo". Alt kids are becoming increasingly common again and are naturally made fun of but glorified and fetishized on the internet like the "good ol days" of myspace, stickam, chatrooms, stickydrama, and camgirl sites (Except this time around it's Instagram, TikTok, Discord, lolcow, and onlyfans). That paired with the ungodly milennial obsession with nostalgia which has resulted in the rise of romanticizing the 2000s and y2k aesthetics... TLDLR: Basically I would argue that it's not exactly making a "comeback" but rather a new variant of "emo" is taking the center stage in an equally shallow and widespread way. People will always find a way to be edgy, it's basically human nature at this point.

Emo's are not a dying bread in Milton Keynes. Everyday you see some at the Shopping Centre.
