I found myself today. When I looked into my past. And the things I saw there frightened me, they are what hold me back. I was lost in the fray, my nerves made of glass. My eyes open,but still unable to see. My heart a speckled black. I will scream unto the world, that I will never back down. When I cry I will do it without sound. I will stand when others fall. No longer afraid to speak, no more is my outcome bleak. For I choose to fight, till my heart is pure and white. I found myself today. Now I understand the past. My demons having left me. Nothing left to hold me back. Tell me what you think.This poem is about conforming to society.
