I suffer with this too. It may sound stupid but I went to a specialist who explained that your diet can keep you up. Don't have anything caffeinated after 7pm and don't have sugary foods ether, the last time you should eat is around 8 I think. Don't watch anything which will stimulate your mind at least two hours before you go to bed, this should be your "chill out time" where you just relax with soothing music, a book (plain, not adventurous ect.) or just relax, a while before bed try a scented bath, maybe some oils. Make sure there is nothing on your mind a few hours before bed and if there is sort it. Don't watch TV for at least an hour before bed. I think thats it before bed............... If you still can not sleep try reading a really boring book, but only one page of it over and over, you're not allowed to turn the page ect. Thats all I can think of right now, hope it helps, don't forget if you try everything talk to your GP and as a verry LAST resort try sleeping tablets, try herbal ones before medication.

your welcome sleep depravation is a recognized torture and can, in extreme cases, lead to death....
