The world is such a dismal grey The heavens tears come out to play I've sold myself to dismay No one hears me when I pray Alone and wretched I feel alone No where to hide no heart for a home Outside I sit in the dark and cold My tears are frozen like dead stone All has failed and I'm a helpless man A tool or an instrument of some big plan Only to be ridden like the mule fed hay Like a horse driven I ride to my grave. I light a candle six feet under Only to find my greatest plunder The smallest flame can light the darkest hole But to feed the fire I need hope. I raise my hands to the thundering sky I scream out loud and wonder why And funny enough I hear a reply " You're in a grave but you have not died". I look around and begin to cry Only to question- wonder why Didn't I go why didn't I die Why must I continue this miserable life!! A piece of dirt rolls by my side Then I ponder- I recognise That this same soil that buries the dead is the home for seeds in the garden bed. In life there's death and in death's there is birth So while I live I'll find my worth I'll form a mountain from the dirt Pave a way through the hurt my tears will water my new found life The pain will be finally put aside Then through it all I'll finally rise Touch the grace of heaven Find my place in life.
