Love is a drug We don't see the harm it does until it ends We look at ourselves afterwards and see the afflictions But never stop And we try to find our own cures Through self mutilation, through chewing our veins with sharp objects As if bleeding was our only escape We screamed until our gullets were sore And cursed our lovers a thousand times We spent nights in tears, praying the sun would not come up For fear of facing the social gathering of school and other events I remember so many times, when I coulndt speak becuase my heart was stuck in my throat. Trying to call out "Erase this pain" Only to have tears follow This is our foolish suicide We cut out our hearts and give them away It's never painless It never ends well And yet we relapse And seek it again Hoping it will be a better ride this time But when we try to live without love What do we became? like wounded animals who can't catch thier prey We starve to death I've learned from this I've tried and tried again To remove my own heart To filter the poison and lock it away But i only ran from the truth We were meant for love As much as we were meant for agony It's the paint that colors our hearts black And the disease that gives us reason to live (my friend wrote this for me)
