Ever find something from a past relationship? May 18 2011, 03:53 PM
I thought it was really funny I was cleaning my room out today and stumbled upon things that belonged to my ex girlfriend. In this case it was gauges, bracelets, little notes, pictures and a present that I had planned to give her. Now the questions that went through my mind were 1. why the hell did i have her gauges 2. what to do with these discovered items? We dated for about 2 years and have been apart for almost 1. I figured this would be a true test to see if I had gotten over her as I should, for my sake but more importantly hers. I finally ended up carefully looking at everything, reading the notes and reliving the memories. I threw all of the stuff away knowing that it was time. As each memory hit the bottom of the garbage can I felt a moment of peace, something that I had not felt for awhile. It is time to move on and I finally feel secure enough to do so... Anyway little story that I felt like sharing.

I have things from ex's, but never look at them. If the breakups were bad I would of most likely thrown them away though.

I never really had a pleasant past relationship with my ex so I refused to keep anything. I had my mom hold onto pictures that I was sure I'd want later on down the line but scorned at the time. Maybe letters and stuff do alright but I find things like stuffed animals are just too solid of a memory.
