I watch in silence as society falls apart Lies festering in rotten minds Civilisation torn apart a thousand vile times The fire of our passion ablaze Our dying future submerged Drowning in solitary haze Flame inferno to drown all but one My heart as cold as lithium ice Skin raging, seething and burnt by the sun Trying to escape from the red mist of destruction An unknown's last breath lingers on a river of blood The river swells, too full of souls and breaks the banks to flood To drown the lands in its sorrow To catch the teardrops of the broken and weary-souled And rid the world of tomorrow A fading ghost calls out to the broken and the crying "Tomorrow is gone! Today is dying! So long! Farewell What was once your home is now your hell!" The swelling scarlett river proclaims pain through the land Crying sorrow to each teary eye it shall meet You left me broken and burning, falling to pieces Crying mercy at destiny's feet Stone cold tears break my blistering skin The river bubbles and boils with furious glee And enticingly taunts me, lures me in A radiant waterfall of crimson falls sweetly between my fingertips It cascades in streaks of iron agony Down my screaming wounds it drips Yet back to the swirling mass it does not fall, it snakes and sets around me And in my own pain and suffering it suffocates and drowns me Oh now I know that I'm dead to this ugly world And I love it...
