Break the Gray: Regret and Love Apr 12 2014, 06:20 AM

The death of love; Its euphoric bliss Doth shed the light on all the gray Of all the moments and all the pain Blackening the false bright days Revealing them for what they were What was once love Seems now, a curse My eyes behold the past’s true story What I thought was love: unshared feeling Upon me you were only leaning And I was there foolishly, dreaming Now you’ve found your own two legs And friends to hold you dear And I Day dream of only nightmares: Did you love? It never was What my hope meant to me So now that time has shown Your own true feelings: Gray like the clouds of the storm I bathe in rains of dreams beyond healing Shivering in regret’s warmth. Oh that time would bring me healing Maybe shed a light, or two So that my heart beat shall be even Not surfing among the gray. Then maybe then I will see truly That love never was And my hope Never Meant to be. Stephen Blackman
