have you tried taking your mum to your counselling session and seeing as if as a group, you can come to some sort of group compromise over things? the best thing i personally found when things got tense between me and my mum was leaving the situation before it got heated so more arguments couldn't happen. In the end i just sat down with my parents and a good friend of mine (for support) and talked calmly about what their issues were with me , mine with them and we finally drew up some sort of comprise/tolerance policy between us both, that still stands and works nowadays. As for Suicidal tenancies, try and distract your mind is a positive way ie write,draw , listen to music, talk to a friend etc that way you will feel less down and stressed about things. Also Stay strong and confident in yourself, as after all you are a person too and deserve to be happy. ^ hope this helps :) feel free to message me if you want anymore help or just someone to listen to you

Hi. Very sorry to hear your thoughts and feelings at the moment, I'm new here so I hope you don't mind me intruding with a reply here! First of all I have had OCD all my life so I hope i can be sensitive towards this situation. I know when my OCD flairs up it can make me lash out at the ones I love most and this usually occurs when I'm under great stress. It could be that your mum is feeling guilty and terified that she in some way has contributed to your own fragile mental state. So you see you BOTH could be feeling really awful at the moment. Thats why its very important that if at all possible you can reassure one another and support each other through this difficult period of your life and hopefully become stronger people at the end of it. I understand that the situation is complicated further by your mum's boyfriendbeing on the scene. All I can say is he clearly has no insight into mental illness and the impact that throwing insults at people has on a vulnerable person if he did he would know it is one of the worst things you can do, when were down these things seem to muliply in our minds. But through it all you must remind yourself that he is the one in the wrong and he's very wrong to also encourage your mum to do the same. I also think Kate's comment on here makes good sense too. You DO need to walk away from intense situations. But that needn't mean storming off. Try joining local groups that centre around things that interest you and can reawaken your spirits, a change of scenery may be just the thing to boost your confidence in yourself. I really hope you can salvage your relationship with your mum and get back on your feet and start enjoying life more! If you need someone to talk to I am more than willing and best wishes. ;)
