I can't remember the last time I was emotionally and physically 100% single. Guys just make me feel like shit all the time. If I'm with a guy I feel like I have low self esteem and I'm terrified he's using me, but when I'm alone I'm insanely lonely and sad, I think I'll never get another guy again. I've never had a normal relationship, they were all messed up. I've tried being with 'nice' guys but I'm not attracted to them, and the majority of the time they ended up being even bigger douchebags. I've liked guys that are good for me and that made me feel good, but I ended up friend zoning them and shit just didn't work out. I like one of my friends again, he's really good for me. He's probably the best possible person for me right now, he's really sweet, he believes in me, he knows my current struggles, and he always makes me laugh and we have fun jamming. I'm just so worried that I'm going to be so worried that I'll mess it up to the point that I won't do anything, if that makes any sense. I did that in the past and it just fucked everything up. Also I don't know if he knows that I'm changed. He's never had a relationship, or even kissed a girl because he's waiting for the right girl, and he knows me best as the girl who does everything with everyone, but that isn't me anymore. I actually really like him but I feel like he will never realize it.

It sounds like you're in a tough situation. No matter what, just be honest, and tell him how you feel. You will be so much better after you just get it off your chest, and be honest. I know this might not be an amazing option, but it's the best one that you have right now. Anything else could make it even worse.

I agree with Spinosaurus. Tell him that you have changed for good. The best would be if you could prove it to him somehow. From your description of the situation, it seems for me that you are really close friends with him. I believe moving on from friendship to something more special will be easy and challenging at the same time. Take it easy and be yourself. One step at a time. Move on slowly. If you feel unsure or worried, stop, take a breath, relax, analyze the situation and move on when you feel confident again...
