i've been away from my almost-one-year old kitten recently and he was sneezing a lot so i looked it up and it seemed like he just had a cold and it would pass but my mom called me last night and said he had sneezed out blood and a worm that looked like a maggot. i can't afford to take him to a vet so i'm taking him to a free clinic as soon as i can, but until then does anyone know what's happening? i know its an odd question but i looked it up and i just don't understand. someone please help me out :(

Taking him to the clinic asap is the best thing for him really as they are qualified to tell you what it is and how to treat it ... disclaimer : (before someone bites my head off ) i'm not a vet, but have grown up with cats nearly all my life and still own two considering this involved a maggot like thing it could be a case of worms , that is easily picked up from outside,flys and other insects... (amazing what cats eat esp kittens) this is easily treated with Wormer stuff you can buy either at the vet or in most good pet shops (or you can in the UK anyway...) it goes on the back of their necks or taken orally and prevents worms growing/living in them and is then routinely applied/taken as per the products instructions. eg Panacur - wormer paste i use it on jusy about all my pets as it's one of the better ones around but not overly expensive either Also it could just be he has a cold or that he got the worm stuck up his nose when being curious ! hope he's okay though and good luck at the clinic :)

Let us know how it goes poor kitty and definitely sounds like worms (from what I have read).
