Emo Scene Community

The ink from my pen spills onto the paper, carefully and accordingly as I form the letters that bare my thoughts. I feel naked now. Here, everything I've hidden for eight years, for everyone to see. How many people would look over this file? My eyes well with the emotion that threatens to burst open. Lip quivering, my handwriting becomes sloppy and uneven, and my vision blurrs. I have trouble breathing, as I recall the horrid memories I'm forever haunted with. The officers voice fills my ears as he orders me politely to remember as much as I can. But it hurts. It hurts to remember the pain of what broke me. To remember him. I keep writing. I must remember. You feel so broken because at this point you are beyond repair. You don't think you could get any lower, because you believe you are the lowest. My handwriting is illegible at this point. I can feel them staring at me as I blink away the water from my eyes and try to focus. But it's like there's a barrier blocking my thoughts, shielding me from the truth. Lie, lie, lie, a small voice whispers in my mind. Hide from the truth. They don't have to know you're weak. You're not a woman. You're a child. Lie, it whispers. My sub conscious. It always told me to hide, to conceal it, never reveal it. No. It ends tonight. I force out the rest of what I can remember on the paper, and I grit my teeth as I write his name. I sign my name carefully at the bottom, my stomach lurching as I write out his last name that was legally mine. I stare in digust at my signature. I am not yours. I do not belong to you. I will discard your last name. I will pretend you don't exist. I promise you.
