Just interested in this... I have been into the emo scene since 2003. Pretty tough to say when you turned "emo" I guess so you can say when you became "alternative".. This is all very stereotypical I know, but that's how society is.

i suppose i became "alternative" when i went to college, before then i was into the music but was also into dance/pop music and just dressed errr normal lol when i got to college and met people into similar rock music i started to get into it more and started to dress alternativly so yeh i guess ive already been "alternative" but was around college time i fully got into it

i turned emo...lol saying that sounds funny...when i was in yr 8...that would be in 2004

It does sounds funny yes. I don't think people just "turn" emo though, I think it's a working progress.

i think ive been emo along time i just didnt look like one but up untill i move i started with my make up and my hair and my clothes

I started liking the emo fashion at the beginning of year 9, I didn't really have any exposure to it until then.. So mid-2005. I had really short hair and chav clothes then though, but by halfway through year 9 I had a fringe just above my eyes and semi-emo clothing. We have swipe cards in my school and my picture on it is from my first day of school.. I have to convince every single person that views the picture that it's me haha. :P

I think "alternative" probably suits me more, I suppose you could say I was a "rocker" at first in school when I was about 12, this evolved into a less rock stuff after about a year and started going into more electronic music, e.g. numan, depeche mode etc, this then changed that I went very much electro, trance, hard house and I became a "Cyber/CrasherKid" and stayed like that for many years. After GateCrasher finished at 6am there was an event started called Insomniacz, which was held at the Old Corporation in Sheffield, as GateCrasher started to become less frequent I started goin to Corporation a lot more, even after it moved as well and started rekindling my enjoyment of heavy music, a lot of my fellow "CrasherKids" also were spending more time there and it felt quite an easy progression from "Cyber/CrasherKid" to "Emo", well technically "CyberEmo" as I was informed. :P
