Site Running Slow or Timing Out... Jun 10 2008, 11:53 AM
For an hour tonight www.soEmo.co.uk has been running slow and timing out. This is obviously frustrating to myself and the users. I have raised the issue with the hosting company. Clearly all sites may experience these problems, but please use this topic to note down times, error messages etc. As the site gets larger and larger it is crucial that there is minimal downtime. The hosting company is the extemely reputable Lunarpages and in fairness there has been very few problems as of yet.

the forums just crashed on me for about 5 mins, clicked refresh bout a 100 times and its workin fine now xxxx

The forums are still running slow when you go onto the list of topics in the sections. I have made it slightly quicker, but can't see what the problem is at the moment grrr!

GO ME!! Looks like sorted it now :] Added another index to the forum posts database table to speed up the INNER JOIN between the forum posts and forum topics tables in the SELECT query.

I dont know wether its my computer or not, it probably is but every once in a while i get a popup that say there is an error and it doesnt load up the page, but I havnt found it to be consistant with any page but its mainly on this site but thats because Im always on it probably :S

Well it could be the hosting or even me actually working on the site which will sometimes slow the site.

well its okay I dont think its the site it happend on a differnet site :S so its my computer. :D

heya just to let you know the site has timed out a few times in the last half an hour (5 30/6ish) prob more likly my laptop tho grrrrrrrrr

The site was for a couple of hours today. This was due to the servers being upgraded. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
