why is it that most 'alternative' hairstyles involve having straight hair? i carnt be bothered to straighten my hair all the time and i prefer it a bit wavy but most alternative people straighten their hair.... who prefers straight hair to curly? why is straight hair the fashion?

Yes some guys would suit messy hair more. Super straight hair can sometimes look a bit OTT.

Yeah, obviously :P Back on topic now, getting some straightners tomorrow - want to have a go at straightening my brothers though. His hair is just before shoulder-length, so hopefully will turn out good :P

I cant get dead straight hair :( its to curly so it ends up wavey but I like it when the wind gets it because yea its messy and i think it looks good :D O.o tantra, just remember dont hold it in the same place for to long :O
