does your school wrongfully block certain sites? if so... let me know May 19 2009, 04:38 AM

As we all know, schools block websites. Some are actually deservant of it. My example would pornographic sites, excessively (to the point where you want to vomit) disgusting sites, sites to do with alcohol/drugs, action sites and many other sites. Well, i decided yesterday to take a moment and look up some information on potetially haunted places and places that have had a UFO siting. Upon doing this, i can across the fact that the PRS (Paranormal Research Society) home website was blocked. I was mildly shocked. I also came came to see that almost all the other sites like it were blocked. So i decided to do a little UFO research. while not very many websites were blocked for that, there was still a few. In curiosity, i saw a thing on the website telling me it was blocked that said Categorization. I checked it out. As i read it, i saw one thing that pissed me off quite a bit. According to that page, you can NOT look up things to do with alternative sexuality/lifestyles and alternative spirituality/occult. if your internet will let you... here is the site

if you can get to this website not using a school computer, it will show you a list of blocked categories. it is unfair to those that are of the opposite religion of christianity. and i  am appalled to see that my future as a paranormal investigator is being blocked by a screen telling me that ghosts are inappropriate.

Someone at my old workplace installed a keylogger on some of our machines! That wasn't on and me and my old mate there sorted it out straight away. They can track what you do legally, but they have to tell you what systems are in place.

lol, just go on hidemyass or other IP blocking sites and you can go to any sites in school. but yea, my school dos block some sites but not as much as you cuz "we need to be aware of other cultures" crap XD

vtunnel.com is blocked... just tried it. what exactly is it? it almost seems like schools are trying to get rid of certain groups of people or push them out because ive got teachers left and right bashing me for saying im a satanist, athiest or pagan. im not those but this is not the 1st time this has happened. its happened in my middle school years and ive been claimed as a cutter too all because i wear stuff on my wrists. im very much surprised that this site isnt blocked.

I guess it's only a matter of time. They shouldn't bloke these sort of sites really unless they are interfering with your work. They are already fighting a losing battle anyway because a lot of people can access the Internet on their mobile phones using a different connection.

yah exactly, if youre done with all your work, it shouldnt be a problem, but it is for some reason. then again, idk about you UK'ers, but we gotta major pedefilia problem over here. so its kinda understandable, but if someone is asking a minor during school if they wanna get their freak on, a teacher will know because they got this program that watches what we type and go to. and what you said, itll only be a matter time and i agree 100%.

So Emo is not blocked at college yet Facebook is and as soon as you get on the college internet it advertises the colleges facebook page...... Also all my "free host" sites aren't blocked and they are potentially harmful as far as my old comprehensives internet system was concerned... The servers we use block words instead of sites, it doesn't work well.

oh my goooood EVERYTHING was blocked at my school, I couldn't get on a revision site at one point, I just got a big SITE BLOCKED sign!!! They went way over the top.. and I know what you mean, it's digusting that christianity can have all the websites, tv channels and radio (!) it likes but everything else is shoved into a corner.

yup, thats pretty much what it is. and it pisses me off just thinking about that because if i were a satanist, id go off the wall with civil suits and shit because ive heard of people i know that are being turned down for jobs because of religion. and its bs.
