I still like my ex but he dumped me by txt but he was nice to me about braking up and he wasnt like the other tw*ts that dumped me and stil is a gd mate of mine and he just broke up with his girlfriend and he wasnt like any boyfriend i have ever been out with and i dunno if he likes me what do i do :(

try to tell him that and see if he feels the same way too.. if he does, then great..but if he doesn't like you anymore, ask him what's the reason and if it's not negotiable then it's time for you to move on..

Yea you gotta just try ask him, but a lot of the time it's a bad idea going back with an ex as I'm sure you have heard.
