that happened to me once aswell.I think after a while it deletes them.but is'nt that a good thing?it makes it easier to tell if u got a new one.if its a freind request then just get them to send it again ^.^

To clear up this confusion... When you login notifications since your last visit are shown and if you get a new notification whilst logged in that will show as well. When you logout these notifications are reset. If you close the site without logging out they won't be refreshed/reset.
