Finally somewhere to talk about this xD I'l start of by saying this might seem a little bi-est( if i spelt that right :/) as theyre my favorite band. As a whole, I personnaly don't think the band is over rated, because with so many fans, there obviously doing something right. After all, you can't really get good or bad music ( except pop! XD) As everyone has there fans and haters. theres no way to prove anything. I will admit, at times (to me anyway! :P) they seem to perfect, and these ideas sneak into my mind about them being owned by the government, to make a lot of money :P It's just a stupid theory at the back of my mind that I havent thought much about, if you know what i mean xD. But then I just remember, I enjoy their music so who cares? ^^ As for the songs, It's actually the other way around, Blackveilbrides have written a lot of songs, however they seem to be releasing them at a very slow rate. Mabye BVB themselves think they won't last long, and so are realeasing them at a slow and steady rate, So that they have more time to write more songs and schizz. Remember, there rise to fame was very fast and unexpected, who could blame them? They have good songs, with good lyrics. They just need to shift their ass's, be it in writing new songs or officialy releasing the ones that arent geting enough hype and there only playing at live shows. Othere wise; people (myself included, atmitedly :(), will get fed up :|

first off its Biased (just thought I would like to help you on that) second off I totally agree with you (kind of) I love their songs and even though they aren't my favorite band ever I personally like their songs because they are with the emo/scene kids... they actually have a song called perfect weapon that like talks about how people need to stand up for themselves and stuff like that (my intepretation) and I just think they are an overall wonderful band (:

^ I agree with the two above. BVB are actually amazing. Music-wise, lyrics-wise, style-wise. I can't fault them for anything really apart from their lack of releases, as stated above. They're not my favorite band (second actually) but I think they can go far. They do seem like the type to get forgotten but if they do, they'll have an awesome come back and whatnot. Their lyrics are very inspirational. I know its a bit cliche but its true. Most people only listen to the music, never the lyrics but for me the lyrics do make a big impact on the band. Their videos are also amazing. Pens and Knives made me cry. I know how the kid in the video feels, I've been (and am) in his position. People do take them down for their style. Andy's make up and whatnot but I personally love it !! Hm... I could go on forever but I shant. (':

Noooo!!! I love all of their songs and they get better and better if they don't last I'll die! I'm over-reacting to this. Okay I can understand how people can say that but I love them and one song I listened to I didn't like then I listened to others and I wonder how they aren't more popular. I told my friends and they love 'em too now :)

Thanks people for your interesting replies. I hope they continue to make an impact on the emo scene for a while. I certainly prefer their style to all the screamo/crunk stuff that is popular at the moment.

^^ definatly... and I also aggree with what one of the upper people said about how lyircs impact the band... they could have the best beat ever but if their lyrics are shit and not deep then I will refuse to listen to them

Just to add my opinion (for what it's worth), I have loved BVB since way back and I have to agree with everyone above about the great lyrics. I have noticed that a fair number of people seem to hate on them and attribute BVB's succes to Andy being good looking, which I think is a real shame. I mean, I will be the first one to admit that he's a hot guy, but I do genuinely believe they are all a very talented bunch of people who deserve whatever success they have. I wouldn't listen to their music otherwise. Anyways, for me, the fact that most of the songs from their new album are already in my most played list speaks volumes. I hope they'll be around for a good while yet :)

there songs r all gd, but they need 2 make a album. once they hav, we will find out. if it is gd, then some ppl r still going 2 think it wont larst long, if its bad, then they r a fail.

Black Veil Brides isn't overrated in my opinion They're one of my favorite English speaking bands. They don't lack good lyrics, instrumentals, or any other music skill except Andy has a hard time learning lyrics. They realeased their debut album on July 20th here in America so they already have a album (the outcasts, we stitch these wounds, beautiful remains,children surrender, perfect weapon, knives and pens,the morticians daughter,all your hate, heavns calling,never give in, sweet blasphemy, carolyn and in the HT version Knives and pens acoustic) most of the songs were slightly modified and in my opinion it's a great album despite it having some of the singles in it.

lol I would definatly buy it... but my mom sadly doesnt approve so boo :/ lol but in central texas they are very popular around the emo/scene/goth kids <3

Totally overrated in comparison to some bands that deserve to be huge. Bands like Us, From Outside, Rosaline and Outline in Color are extremely promising new bands on the post-hardcore/emocore scene. But they get ignored in favour of the Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria's out there. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy quite a few BVB songs. But there are far more deserving acts that barely get any recognition. So yeah, I think they're overrated.

Personally, i've only heard two of their songs. Morticians Daughter and the Gunsling. I love them. I'm going to get more of their songs downloaded, because i really didn't know how much of a big band they are. So i definately don't think they're overrated. :)

Mortican's Daughter and Knives and Pens are the only two songs that I'll listen to repeatedly every day on an infinite Youtube loop. <3 I was only recently introduced this group but it has instantly been a favorite. I must say Ashley Purdy and Andy Six are tied as my favorite members, Ashley is hilarious in the interviews and Andy just has an amazing voice. The singles are great, but I juts hope Andy would not sing and "layer" his screaming so much. .X. it just sounds.. like he's hiding his voice when he does so.

lol it is good to hear a different veiw, however every band has their flaws and maybe those bands you named haven't quite profected them yet... lol sorry i had to argue with that because its what i do lol... no not really it was just the first thought that popped into my mind

No. I think BVB isn't overrated. It still depends on the impact of their band to the fans. When I first heard the song "Knives and Pens" the first thing that came to my mind is, the song can relate to the teenagers nowadays. As well as their other songs, it can be the inspirations to the teens today. I don't know. Anyways, that's my opinion.

Seeing BVB in february....cant wait :D so yeah.....maybe after that i'll have a new opinion on whether they're overrated or not :P
