I seriously need help on how to stop cutting.i dont know what to do all i can say is that i need help. does anyone have any ideas on how i can stop???

ive been cutting my wrists for a while and iv recently decided to stop x mainly because its just giving proof for the stereotypical bastards that emos do slit their wrists (even though its not only emos that do it) so they just assume they all cut themselves and that gives the other emos a bad name. sure it might be hard to stop but just think about all the other emos reputations xx

Maybe try to distract yourself... Go find something else to do other than cut, like write poetry, sing or cry. I used to cut... But I decided that all the scars on my arms would make it hard to get a job someday, so I decided to just start writing...

I'm going to throw out professional help out there-only cause i'm 24 and have self harmed since i was 11. I tried many things to stop but in the end the thing that helped most was getting to what was causing me to do it in the first place. But that isn't for everyone, i could give you a million and one distraction techniques but the ones that have worked for me are: *drawing on where you would usually hurt yourself with red pen *the elastic band one *ice cubes-hold them on your skin, gives a similar sensation *do anything to distract your hards, drawing/painting/even washing up Hope that helps

When you TRULY want to stop self harming you will. I quit cold turkey (almost) I did it like maybe twice after I said I would stop and it was months after... When you bleed out you will come to a realization that you can die from it you will want to stop also what the person about me posted (sorry I forgot her name) actually does work... especially the red writing thing

I actually talked to the Samaritans - from kerrang! magazine. I emailed them for a while and told them everything, then i spoke to my youth worker, she helped me quit. i wrote down all my feelings, then wrote poems aswel, these always seemed to take my mind off it, now i'm free from cutting.

i just thought about all the scars i will get in the future not that attractive really.... but yeah i haven't really been quitting with it forever because im so into vampires a like to see my blood from time to time O_o
