The TV was still playing music. The way you held me... On that sofa... Like you would never let me go. You don't remember... but I do. Your eyes were closed shut, So peacefully... I could not resist... My hand reached to your face. You don't remember... but I do. My fingers traced your features. I should have kissed you... But I was in awe... Time seemed frozen so still. You don't remember... but I do. I stopped and held my breath - Your eyelashes fluttered... I think you smiled... I hoped with all my heart you'd remember. You don't remember... but I do. I laid my head back on your chest. Your heart... So beautiful... I could hear it beat faster. You don't remember... but I do. My hand gently rose up To your chest... Your neck... Back up to that precious face again. You don't remember... but I do. I seem to remember a tear, Trickling silently... Down my cheek... I think it landed on your arm. You don't remember... but I do. I swore I'd never forget that moment, So pure... So beautiful... It's important that I remember. Because You don't remember... But I do. (Written for my beautiful boyfriend, who has the purest heart in the world <3)
