The decline of Myspace and the emo scene.. Feb 08 2011, 04:30 PM
Personally I believe the decline of Myspace has had an negative impact on the popularity of the emo scene. Sites such as this one help keep the scene active on the Web, but of course they lack the massive popularity Myspace had. I think it's an interesting topic for discussion anyway...

I agree. MySpace doesn't seem to be that popular anymore.

Is it wierd that I've never even been on Myspace? Like AT ALL? It used to be SUPER popular, I remember all of my friends had one but I was never really interested in it... But whenever I saw other people on it, there was a giant amount of emo people on there, so yeah I know what you're talking about. Lots of Scene people too, most of the 'queens' were on there.

I check mine every now and then and to check new bands out but its all about facebook twitter bebo and all that lot :/

FlamingBlackSkull I like that you provide decent answers :] Facebook, Twitter, etc are slightly different in their approach to Myspace. IMO Facebook is less about getting to know random people and more about interacting with people you already know.

i love myspace <3 well myspace is surely less popular nowadays but i am on myspace everyday nowadays there's so many new bands to check out <3 x

Yeah I still check mine now and again, mostly for bands and stuff but it seems a lot of bands are taking to twitter and facebook and well, hate the drama on facebook and well twitter is alright. :P It's a shame though because I used to speak to so many awesome people that now don't use my space and have well vanished off the face of the internet. XD
