Why is heart still beating? Perfectly bleeding When my cause of life Diminished? - Scarily my hopes take hold Of my thoughts of coming home To a paradise of gold: A place where the water glistens And my reflection blossoms As it stares back at me. Why is my heart not stone? I’m all alone With no one beside me. I cry aloud! And my echo consoles me... In this paradise: My riches hold me My reflection a great painting The perfect smile. Why doesn’t my soul ache As each morning breaks My heart? My paradise melted by the sun By that consuming fire My purity lost In dreams like ebony- My reflection dried up By time- like a raisin, I’m old And I can’t scream To make an echo... All that’s left Is a hollow hole Where my heart used to bleed. Vybz May 15th 2011 ©
