Im beginning to develop a fear in seeing people that I use to know. I went away to college and basically cut off everyone I knew from highschool. I didnt have any really good friends so it didnt take a long time but I just came back home for the summer and when I go out I get a tightness in my chest and feel very uncomfortable with the thought that I might see fimilar faces. Im not running from my past I just have alot of things that I wish i would have never experienced and I just dont want people asking me any questions the bring up the past. Is it irrational to feel this way?

I know how you feel. im not even out of highschool but every time I go places i hope with all my heart that I don't see anyone I know there.

I feel the same! everywhere I go I pray not to see "familiar faces" coming to talk to me :D I think it's because I feel like I wouldn't know what to say to them since we have nothing in common anymore (high school is over!) and because it's been a while since I talked to "people", other than my family ;p

I feel that to, like with people i used to be really close with and i haven't seen in a long time and i'm like "i hope they don't see me" 'cause, I mean, what would we talk about, we're like strangers now.... I know that is different for you 'case from what i read you have bad memories, but it's like that awkward moment when you look at each other

This is exactly how i feel.... Its like there is nothing that important that i need to say to any of my old friends that merits me rekindling some friendship that has long past. I feel weak not being able to face people. I mean im good with meeting people its just keeping them as friends im not wonderful at. I just get so queezy with the idea that i might have to see a ex with a new boyfriend or pretend to care about the life of my friends that never were able to leave home behind

OMG and I thought that was just me! the worst is when you actualy see them and they are stood next to you for say an hour and you just cant think what to say. They try and converse but give up after about 10 mins then its just unbearable for ages.Maybe as bad is when some random comes up to you and says hey remember XX that was great ,coool etc and you think at first what the hell are they talking about but then you remember and you realise that XX or whatever was a bloody nightmare and the worst thing is its so hard to be honest and not just stand there nodding like a dog with a fixed smile on your face..Grrrrr
