Sit still There Underneath the sturdy cottonwood The leaves the wind blows through The sound like rain Pitter patter Against tin roofs Breathe in the cool fall air Deep inhale Euphoria Peace within One with the world Whole again Now feel the earth Beneath the palms of your hands Black dirt cool against the skin Now breathe it all in again Exhale Discard the veil Open your eyes There's a world outside A quiet world where you sat and stood There Underneath the sturdy cottonwood
