Changes in meaning? Emo vs scene in Poland. Apr 12 2012, 01:26 PM

Well... Most of people that try to belong to these subcultures in Poland (my country) claim that emo is an old name for the subculture and now the name changed to scene. Thay say it is actual version cause "emo" now are connected with post-commercial poseurs. They claim that people who call themselves "emo" are fakes who want be scene but don't know the name of subculture. They say that emo nowadays is only the music. But I never agreed with this. I believe that emocore (subculture and all this depth connected) is alive. I think it's immortal! So when I joined soemo.uk and read the articles I just thought: OMG! I was right! Yeah. I think in a way similar to authors'. So I'm happy I found You at least. Other members of my true, main subculture... I hope that now I will be understood and no more pseudo-scenes will argue that I'm poseur cause I'd rather call myself emo than scene or that I cannot be myself cause my lifestyle is obsolate. <3
