Awkward.. Oct 18 2012, 12:49 PM

My best friend told me that he... really liked me today. i was just like '.... :O oh' then he said he didn't want it to be awkward. But i think it might be too late for that :/ I feel really bad about not being able to like him back in the same way, i don't want to hurt him and i don't want it to be awkward. Anyone got any advice or cheer up tactics, i just feel really bad at the moment... I just don't want anything to change to be honest, we have an awesome friendship, like the same things, have the same sense of humour etc. I like things the way they are.

awwwwwww.... well actually things now cant be the same....... i mean you feel that he is your best friend and your cheer up, your hug when you need but he thinks that you are a miracle around him. he believes that you are his dream girl... if you think he is ugly dont tell it to him . just try to tell him that you feel safe with him and you have fun when you chat and play. express him that you dont want that to change.

well nothing should change unless one of you two make it change and make it awkward. Just tell him that your sorry but you only love him as a friend and nothing more and if he's mature enough he should be fine, yes he'll be hurt, but he'll be fine in the end. And if you do just act like nothing really happened. The longer you drag it on i reckon the more he may think you are maybe hiding something or try to push him away or something like that

Not a nice situation to be in for either party! I've kinda had this before, and its really tricky. But yeah just be honest and be straight up about it, its the only way, otherwise one of you always wants what they can't have.

Things don't have to be awkward. For instance, both my best mates really like me, and I don't like either of them like that. Sometimes it's awkward, sometimes it isn't. It's the way it is, but I'm sure that if you're good enough friends, it won't be awkward, and things won't change because your friend won't want to lose you :) Chin up sweetie, you'll be arrite :)
