How important do you think the Internet has been in the expansion and evolution of the emo stereotype/subculture? In one word I'd say VERY!

Agreeded the only major downsides to it being so big on the internet are: fakes/posers(annoying) , hate and bad media representation from miss understood things and key facts

I think very important as well. The internet is what really introduced me to the culture/style in the first place. I had a couple of friends in 6th grade always talking about "weird emo kids" and I had no clue what "emo" was; so I Googled it, saw all the awesome hairstyles, clothing etc... and that was it, I've been hooked ever since haha (although I consider myself more "Scene" now)

The internet has DEFINITELY been important in the development of the emo culture. Whilst I originally learned about emo in my first year at high school, it was mainly through the internet that I learned more about it, in particular finding new music. There was a little bit about emo mentioned in Sugar magazine that I used to read, but the internet allowed me to find out much more (I mean lets face it, Sugar magazine was hardly emo orientated!) And of course, sites like this meant it was easier for me to find other emo people :)
