Struggling... Mar 27 2013, 08:08 AM

So i have been struggling alot these past couple days....and it has gotten to the point where I am shaking because of it....I havent cut in almost two years....and have been able to fight it off for almost two years without slipping or lapsing...and now all of a sudden its an extreme craving my body wants....and it would break my girls heart if I gave in...but she is(unknowingly) some of why the urges have come back so strong...what do I do... :(

*hugs * well done for not cutting for 2 yrs ! i wish i could give it up for as long as you.. . just do your best to stay strong and remind yourself there's always hope ... distract your mind every time you get the feeling you want to cut ..so draw , listen to upbeat music ,do house work etc that way your brain isn't focused on cutting hope this helps

The only reason I stopped was because of my girl friend....she made me promise.. (jokingly of course) to never cut again or she would leave me, and I didnt want to take that chance....but I started cutting when I was in seventh grade...and didnt stop till I met her...and that was summer before college..and now all this shit is going on in my life...and I dont have homework...I use to kill ppl on COD but now that my new job has my sleep cycle all fucked up I cant really get on as much...and I can really start to feel the scars.....and the urges for cutting again...I feel trapped and I feel like I am drowing in my own life..and cutting was my way out..my release and my breath of air..

i see your point ... well look at your scars and remember what you've come through to get to were you are now ..to be with someone you love ... and think about it ..is it worth it ? do you really want to pout yourself through the pain and the scars again ?? i've been doing it almost 8 yrs now :/ trying to stop ..and yhea it's damn hard thing to do

Dont be sad about that! see you have to try and beat your "record" of a month, then when you do, treat yourself to something, it doesnt have to b expensive or something crzy, just something you like. and do it buy it for yourself or go out and do it as a reward. I know it sounds silly and all but Im SERIOUS!

There is some easy tricks like what you said listen to music and stuff, then you can also have somebody that you trust whether a f2f friend or a i2i friend. face 2 face = f2f i2i internet or cell phone friends that you dont see but know and trust.

Seiously tho like that person you trustif you feel like your about to cut or hurt yourself, call them message them get a hold of them, shit if your about to do something and cant get ahold of anyone late at night call me or text me or something! So somebody can try to calm you down and level your head a little more so you dont have to make more scars. Seriously you are way way to beautiful to know that kind of pain and to have to resort to that. *hugs*

thanks ..i do that already (you guys know who you are..thank you =] ) same goes for you ..message me if you ever need to talk or someone to listen i guess so but heck shit happens and life moves on and you've just got to go with it ... all i've learnt is take the past as it happens and let it turn you into someone stronger

I feel really alone too...that also is becoming hard for me to deal with and handle..usually I only have a few friends and family and my girl and im good but now...im losing almost all of what I have..

*hugs* best thing to do is NOT distance yourself from those you are close too but tell them how you feel and see if they can help, also keeping your mind active ..so going out to town etc helps with reducing the feeling
