People who don't make the same effort as you should get less credit. When it comes to helping out or relationships, they shouldn't be bothered. So people who don't make enough effort shouldn't be bothered, and be around the people who actually will.

You shouldn't. I've stopped talking to one of my oldest friends because she wouldn't make an effort. If we text her or facebook messaged her, 9/10 times she wouldn't reply. Whenever we organised meet ups, she'd make excuses. The final straw was when she made up an excuse not to see me on my birthday. I haven't even tried to see her since :/
