A small thing you could make is a necklace or wristband.

It depends, we need more information. ;) You could sew a heart or something similar, a cushion perhaps. Or as xXeMoRaCeRXx said, you can make some jewelry. You could also make a calender with pictures of you or other pictures that he might like. You could create a CD with love songs or your favourite Songs (if you aren't a couple for so long yet and doesn't know all your favourite songs yet).
