Id say just bite the bullet and get chopping with a pair of safety scissors and slowly train your hair to stay in the right position over time with hairspray and Bobby pins at night. (professionals are notorious for never doing the style correctly because the layers are so fine and the style requires so much flipping and adjusting) or alternatively practice on a cheap wig It'll probably look bad at first and it takes a while to get used to cutting it but once you get the hang of it you never forget how to do it. (I haven't had my scene hair in like 3 years and I still remember how to do it fdghjkl)
