i think it would be nice for those who play an instrument to have a nice little topic of our own to discuss playing music, where's the best place to get strings, sheet music, etc. what people are doing, eg what music they are learning, or writing. etc. i hope this provides some usefull information for aspiring musicians.

so, does anyone know any better places to get free tabs than www.ultimate-guitar.com and how do you stay focused? i find that my attention span really dwindles rreally really quickly. and that if im not in the mood to play, its really hard to get started. discuss

what i do when i start playing guitar, is playing a favorite tune of mine, like enter the sandman. that gets me fired up and ready to play a little guitar :).

I play Accourtic and electric guitar, but I love to play lead guitar the most. I've been playing for years now, and I play for hours everyday. It's like, my first love in life. I also play the violin, so I can read sheet music and play it with guitar. I'm also very good at playing by ear.
