This poem kinda corresponds with my other one: Different . Trust is a powerful thing It allows you to confide in your friends about everything It is what bases your parent's decision on weather to let you out or not Trust is what you need to tell the one you fell for everything Trust is earned, but is also lost But what happens when you can't trust ? You can't trust your friends with secrets, for fear they may betray you again You can't trust your parents, for fear they won't listen or understand You can't trust the one you fell for, for fear of having another broken heart And while others may trust you, You know you'll never be able to trust them back It's not paranoia, it's the fact I don't want to get hurt again It's Hell, but it's also something I can't help My trust has been damaged, betrayed, and joked at By so many people; family, friends, the ones I fell for Now I can't let myself trust anyone If I told anyone how I really felt, and what I think I'd be back in therapy the next day And every one would think I'm crazy again I do want to spill everything to someone who'll listen and care But there's no one to trust There's a risk they'll tell everyone and laugh A risk I'm not willing to take I never would want to be in that situation again So I've allowed myself not to trust No trust; no hurt I wish I could turn it off, but I cannot Although, it's probably not a big deal anyway I mean it's not like anyone cared in the first place I speak from personal experience . So to everyone who damaged my trust, thanks b****** and d**** . Look what has become of me now .
