Sleep tight daddy you're laid to rest No more pain now daddy you're with the rest Dont cry when you cant see my face Im right next to you with all the holy grace Be happy that you didnt have to carry on Sit on the stars that i glare upon I wish i could hold you one more time But at least i can say you'll always be mine I can still smell your fragrant scent You'll never understand what you meant Your my dad and i'll always love you Sometimes i'll sit and cry the whole night through I close my eyes and shut them tight so that i can see your face in the dead of night I wish you hadn't of carried on drinking Everyday seeing your heart sinking Every glass took a year away from your life I know you were drinking because you couldn't deal with the strife I lost you in this world so cold You died too young, you werent that old This is just a little poem for you to help you this journey through I'll be 16 in 3 weeks but in my head my memories i keep in my heart, in my head Lay to rest daddy i know your not dead
