I've been trapped Inside a cage With a monkey. Monkey does as monkey sees And what monkey sees in me Is a tool to give the selfish Monkey pleasures. The outside world Can't see the cage But sees the monkey. They ask me why is it I keep Such a little monkey creep I scream I'm sorry 'til I see My love from summer. I reach through bars To grab ahold And tug his sleeve. He looks at me with saddened eyes Watches the monkey with despise I wish freedom didn't have to come From another. I shake the bars As monkey tugs At my clothing. One brother turns in disgust The other laughs, blinded by dust I close my eyes and wait for this To be over. (I just read this over and just realized that to someone else this poem may not make any sense... Interpret it however you wish lol. I'm not going to explain.)
