Beneath your cool and calm facade Behind your complex masquerade Deceit lays wait inside your eyes Waiting for the next victim of your lies Rolling off your tongue in careful perception Endlessly extending with further complexion Falling from your lips without remorse Leaving a tangled web of deception of which you are the source With every word you dare to speak Truth becomes vexed and difficult to seek Losing sight of all I'd come to love Because your words, I believed, false as the freedom of a caged dove Purely out of hope will a caged bird sing Yet I know disappointment is all hope shall bring My time with you is something I cannot forget And trusting you is a move I've come to regret ~Rebecca Lynn
