The irony is this: That sleep brings unrest That a kind young girl's chest Can turn stony in loneliness That a victim will not protest To steal away what's innocent That the one we can trust most is Often found most dangerous That the voices in our heads Are merely fights in our subconscious That everyone is made of pieces Which don't end at our fingertips But reach out into the emptiness Grabbing souls we claim belong to us Leaving fingerprints of permanence So that once they die, in a sense, They leave our souls as homicide victims. The irony is this: Feelings can be held by objects Memories can be held in organs Circles are efficient systems And stationary still can't be motionless That something non-living can cause self-inflicted death The strive to pass into a world which No one knows for sure is in existence That we so prefer ignorance Over pure emotionlessness That it's not hard to steal innocence When being a victim is your line of defense That this could cause the stinging loneliness To turn to cement what's in a young girl's chest And cause her sleep to mean unrest The irony is this.

Awww my motto is always that if a work of art makes me cry then it's officially considered "good" xD so I'm sorry it made you cry but I'm glad at the same time, if that makes sense :) Thanks guys :) I had a lot to get off my chest; this poem was one big vent
