Straighteners Excessive Heat Oct 13 2012, 08:08 AM

Just a bit of advice if you have straighteners for your hair and they have a heat setting always use the lower settings unless it doesn't give the desired result. I feel so many people just whack it upto the highest setting when they don't really need to, which is more likely to damage your hair.

yeah i will admit i do but i don't use it everyday another piece of advice also is to try and not use any produces o your hair as much as possible. like if your just dossing about in your house don't bother doing anything, hair or make-up...gives your hair and skin a breather you could say :)

I usually have the heat on its highest setting because I'm always in a big hurry in the mornings, but that's because my current straightener isn't that bad compared to some others I've used. Plus, I also use heat-protection spray, which really helps

I feel the need to have it on the highest setting because my hair naturally sticks up vertically, I'm not even kidding.

I agree I always use the lower temp, and lots of heat protectant spray beforehand. My hair is pretty much straight anyway, I just straighten to get rid of the fluffyness XD

i HATE when the make straitners where u cant ujust the heat setting!! every ones hair is differnt so what would you make a strainter with one setting!!

My hair is naturally straight-ish, though it sticks up everywhere like it does in my profile pic, so I just use them to make my hair look a little less retarded haha
