Teddy bear.. can you see? The black and blue marks that are covering me. I know they are there, it hurts when I touch, why does daddy have to get angry so much? Teddy, I love daddy... I truly do, but daddy's scary when he's had a few. My marks really hurt, teddy, they ache all the time, but daddy only hurts me when I step out of line. That's what he tells me, so it must be true, Why else would daddy give me theses marks of black and blue. I'll do my best teddy, I'll make sure I'm good, then daddy will be happy, like daddy should. I won't make a sound, teddy, when he hits me tonight, I'll be a good girl, won't scream, cry or fight. The teacher asked me... how I got the bruises on my wrists, I said I fell down the stairs, but it was really daddys fists. I don't think she believed me, but I could never say, if they knew daddy hurt me, they'd take him away. I love my daddy, he only hits me if I'm bad, if I'm a good girl, he won't have to be sad. If I let him hurt me, maybe he won't hurt inside, because he's been hurting, teddy, ever since mummy died.
