A reason, a victim, a shining beacon in the sky You yearn for what's missing, the power hidden in the night... Never give in Never back down, never give in Never Give In, by Black Veil Brides

is there such a thing as safe cutting? Jul 16 2013, 12:17 AM
ok I was thinking about this and in no way am I trying to encourage cutting but there are a lot of people that find self harm is the only way they can deal with emotions so is there a safe way to do this? a lot of times you hear about people that although some if not most might need help others have times were it goes to far on accident and they end up in an even worse place or even losing there life unintenshonaly. of cores the safest cutting is no cutting but since some people cant do that I think its a conversation worth having. so what are the best ways to be safe when your cutting so you don't end up going to far or getting an infection? the easiest part would be having clean objects but the hardest part is not going to deep. you might start out fine but the more you do it the better it feels and you want more and more till you find your self almost uncontralble to the point you cant stop or you go to far. so my question is can there be a way to make cutting a safe method weather it be because of the object you use or the way you cut to help people or ultimitly does it always end up being to dangerous?

Cutting generally gets more dangerous the more you do it. The longer it goes on you have more of a chance of badly hurting yourself. It helps to clean whatever you use to do it first and keep the cuts clean so you don't get an infection. As for cutting too deep, you just have to try not to do it in areas where cutting too deep could kill you (wrists for example) I never cut my wrists because I never had a true death wish.

Speaking from experience, horizontal 'cat scratches' are safe but then it gets addictive and you can go too far too often and end up needing stitches in the emergency ward. Cutting isn't smart nor does it help you but makes things more difficult in the long run, especially stopping the habit

ANY form of self harm isnt safe or great as it can become a addictive cycle and a hard and dangerous one to break But make sure if you do need to cut desprately look after the cuts etc keep them clean to prevent infections But your better off if you get the urge to cut to distract your mind ie go for a walk, draw, read / write , flick a elastic band on your wrist etc to get your thoughts away from the problem and avoid cutting and scarring completly If anything cutting is my biggest regret and the hardest thing is dealing with the aftermath espcaily when trying to recover

They should stop cutting, go out, get life, find love and try hard sex instead XD really.. and I don't mean to be offensive o.o but seriously.. some ppl cut to deal with their problems.. And some ppl drink alcohol.. some take drugs.. addiction is always the same.. u can think u control it but it's just an excuse.
