I lost myself. Nov 17 2013, 02:10 PM

For a long time now I've felt myself slipping away, like I don't really know who I am anymore. I used to be one of those people you never really saw unhappy. I never had problems, was never down. I just want to go back to that. I want to go back to hanging out with friends all the time and midnight trips to wherever. I've been trying so hard to hold on to that, that I don't know who I am now. It's like I forgot to pay attention to the world. I don't know who I am anymore. That's all really. I don't have anything else to say. I've been falling for some time now, and it's finally happened. I've lost myself.....

The best thing to do is to talk, you've done well by asking for help here but it is just the first step in a long road to recovery. Do you have any idea what started this, like a change in your diet, break down of a close relationship, stress from any number of things such as exams? It's probably not what you want to hear but it is worth seeking help from a doctor, you could be suffering from depression. It's not for us to diagnose or put a label on you because there is an infinite number of things which could affect your mood and concentration levels. I have friends who were in the same position as you, as their bodies matured the chemicals in their brain were not being released as they should be which made them lose concentration and become depressed. Air on the side of caution and see a professional hun, we're always here for support.

I know how you feel. It's confusing and unsettling but you'll get through it. It's normal, in fact almost healthy... Almost.. I can't really explain it but it's basically like your thoughts a being morphed into something unfamiliar and you're subconscious is questioning it and over thinking everything, muddling it up and shit like that but the more you look around and talk and think the more you'll understand and the more familiar everything will get. You'll get there. <3
