Easy meal ideas? Nov 21 2014, 11:04 PM
Hi. I've just finished school so I'm home alone a lot of the time and I'm trying to learn how to make a few easy and healthy things. Does anyone have any ideas? :)

Best bet is to buy a cheap recipe book.

1 bag steam fresh brown rice and veggies, (separate bags) 1 avocado and liquid amino acids. (helps a bit with flavor and aminos very good for you) tatertot casserole is quite cheap to make and last a few days. Obviously tater tots, 1lb of ground beef and a can of cream of broccoli and a cheddar one. (can use whichever two combinations you like really) rest you can look up how to cook. Baby carrots n dip maybe as a snack Whole plain yogurt with honey, flax (optional) and berries (i use blueberries but those aren't always cheap)

Keep in mind pasta really isn't that healthy unless you get whole grain pasta. Even then, easy to get sick of eating it.

I would seriously reccomend buying either a student recipe book, or in fact a diabetic's cookery book. My dad has diabetes which restricts his sugar intake so he finds these cook books a useful aide, however they can be equally useful for anyone who just wants to cut back a bit especially on sugar. Most of the time they are written by good nurtitionists along with chefs so you shouldnt have to compromise on taste too much just enjoy a little of what you like. Here are a few links to examples of low cost diabetic cookbooks, both for meals and deserts. Enjoy your cooking experience! :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Complete-Diabetic-Cook-Book-By-BRAMLEY-/291128402593?pt=Non_Fiction&hash=item43c89ae2a1 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Essential-Diabetic-Cookbook-By-Azmina-Govindji-Jill-Myers-/291006075604?pt=Non_Fiction&hash=item43c15052d4 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Diabetes-Cookbook-for-the-Whole-Family-GOOD-Book-/381107794737?pt=UK_Books_EducationalTextbooks_EducationalTextbooks_GL&hash=item58bbcb7331 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Diabetic-Dessert-Cookbook-Coleen-Howard-New-Book-/301421957320?pt=Non_Fiction&hash=item462e2610c8
