Hidden I wear a mask of despair and self pity. My family and friends tell me to remove it, but I refuse. It hides my pain and suffering behind a smile of tears. Some tell me that it´s controlling my life, but in truth I am controlling the mask. I have no reason to remove it, no reason to show my real smile. All I have is pain and regret. An everlasting pain made up of the scars of my past. Regrets of the choice of letting the girl I love slip through my fingers. So I am forced to watch from afar as she leaves me here alone. It drives me to my breaking point, but I am powerless to change it. Why take off the mask? I have no reason to, no reason to smile, laugh, or be joyful. So, why take off the mask, why stop hiding?
