Emo Scene Community

So a just over a year ago I met someone in the most unlikely of places: a website aimed at emo kids. He went by the name of Gleaus in the chat room and we got on so well that we exchanged email addresses. And then we added each other on Facebook a few months later. A month after that we were texting and calling every day. Before we knew it, on December 30th 2015, I caught the train to meet him in Derby. It was the scariest and best thing I did that year. Scary because I was being reckless. Scary because I knew my actions would likely get me kicked out of my stepfather's house (and yes, I did get kicked out). But it was also the best thing I did because it set off a chain reaction of events that made 2016 the best year of my life. I was homeless for some of it and quite sick for a lot of it (I'm only just starting to get better after about a year of being ill) but one person made it all worthwhile. Because once a fortnight I caught a train and travelled for 3 long hours to spend the weekend with him and just seeing him for a few days made everything better. It wasn't long before we began making arrangements for me to live with him. And this new year we'll be celebrating our first year together. It's been tough, we've been through a lot in just one year, but I'm looking forward to another year with him. No matter how much work is involved or how frustrated we can get with one another, I'm excited to see what the future has in store for us. And I'd like to share our story because as far as I know, we're the first couple from SoEmo to be living together. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a good Christmas and new year :)
