All online friends appear first, Offline appears after that on the My friends tab.

Yes I could change it so the friends list is ordered by when they were last online

I changed this to show last logged in friends first, but it was a touch slower. Until the site has been fully re-worked I won't put this in place. However I've done the next best thing for now and it will show your newest friends first rather than last.
