Imma sound crazy asking this... Is it possible to make yourself believe that an event never happened? if so, how?

Well sometimes our minds actually push things so far to the back of our memory that we "forget" them, but I don't know if you can purposely do it :/

I reckon you can. An event in my life happened i told myself so much that it was just a dream blah blah blah that for a while i believed it didnt happen but if you see objects / people it could re trigger the memories, hypnosis might work ?

eh, ill try hipnosis. it was to big of a thing to convince myself.

Yeah, it's called repressing memories. Hypnosis could do it, but like they said, objects will probably trigger memories. Hypnosis doesn't erase memories, just restores them in your subconscious. Shock therapy (Which is drastic, but it could be warranted depending on what you are trying to forget) refires the neurons to make you DEEPLY suppress it so it is almost like a compressed corrupted file in your brain.

yep.... its called memory suppression or repression (think its the first) but its a well known occurence. Sometimes peoples minds use it as a way of coping with things they would rather not remmeber ie: nasty things like abuse and such. Even though im sure it could be something that could be self designed ie brought about by will if you had a strong enough mind but I have only ever heard of it happening to people not them creating it (if you get me)
